Superhero series The Authority is well known for taking superhero comics to places the mainstream fears to tread, but add Garth Ennis to the mix and you can be sure to stretch any extreme a little further.
The Magnificent Kevin follows the story of ex-SAS commando Kevin Hawkins as he’s called upon by MI5 to rescue the Authority superheroes from a custard pie flinging demon. Meanwhile, the death of a close army friend causes Hawkins to question his life and look deep into his soul. If it sounds bizarre, you can be sure that Ennis is at the helm, and the book also features art by Judge Dredd co-creator Carlos Ezquerra.
