From the cookery contest that’s taking even longer than a series of Masterchef, comes another gripping episode in the epic Second Annual Chinese Cooking Competition. This time it’s ostrich on the menu and, as usual, the contenders have to catch and kill their meat before conjuring up a perfect dish. The trouble with ostrich (and you’ll have to believe Shinji Saijyo and his advisor Keiko Oyama on this one) is that it becomes inedible if the bird is stressed prior to slaughter, so the bloodthirsty Jan is going to have to tone down his butchering technique if he’s to stand half a chance of creating anything palatable.
