Grant Morrison and Mark Millar’s work on Aztek in the 1990s was one of the pieces that brought them the notoriety and superstar status amongst superhero comic writers that they enjoy today. Aztek was a new character in DC Comics’ pantheon of heroes, having been raised and trained for the role of superhero but yet to make his mark on the world. Stationed in a city called Vanity, he waits for his big moment, the chance when he can step up into the big time and maybe even join the Justice League. His problems start when some of America’s greatest super-villains get wind of him, and wonder if they can’t squish this hero in waiting out of existence before he causes them any serious trouble.
