Logicomix

In what might seem like the most unlikely subject for a graphic novel to date, Bloomsbury has pulled something of a publishing coup this year with Logicomix. It retells the true story of how genius philosopher and mathematician Bertrand Russell tried to find the Foundations of Mathematics – general truths that could be used to establish the science of numbers as a more solid, real study, eliminating or explaining complicated things like paradoxes and infinity. Trouble was, no-one could really get their head round this stuff and even thinking about it had the habit of sending intelligent men around the twist.

Spanning 60 years of a world in turmoil, don’t let the maths put you off – this book promises to be as exciting and interesting as it is informative and scholarly.
