The old ones are the best ones, and Shannon Hale is no stranger to adding a modern twist to a classic tale. This isn’t even the first time she’s adapted a Grimm story, but it is the first time she’s written a graphic novel, alongside her husband Dean Hale and illustrated by the identically named but totally unrelated Nathan Hale.

Rapunzel’s Revenge retells the story of the long-haired heroine, but places her in a wild west setting. She’s also got a bit more about her, rescuing herself from her own prison (and a few other scrapes) with her unnaturally long hair, and relying less on the prince of the original fairytale.
