We’ve had a couple of volumes each of the greatest Batman and Superman stories ever told, and there’s a Wonder Woman volume on the way. But in the meantime, what about those stories that feature both Batman and Superman? Glad you asked.

There’s actually some serious comics history collected here. The first story in the book, by Edmond Hamilton and Curt Swan, and originally published in 1952, explains how the two heroes came to find out one another’s secret identities. As usual, there’s then something of a quick march through the decades, though strangely the 1990s are missing. Did Superman and Batman have a falling out?
