Star Wars, Batman, Superman and Dan Dare

Continuing to bridge the gap between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, the Star Wars: Clone Wars series has reached volume 6 with On the Fields of Battle, showcasing the continuing Jedi adventures of Anakin, Obi-Wan, Mace Windu and Aayla Secura. Also in space, Dan Dare stars in Operation Saturn Part 2, while Superman finds his way into another dimension in Infinite City. Worthy of note, though not a graphic novel, is Batman: Cover to Cover, a luxurious coffee-table book showcasing some of Batman's best comic covers.

All the books are out now and published by Dark Horse, Titan Books and DC Comics in the US; Titan Books in the UK.

Graphic novels to end June

There's been a good smattering of releases over the past week or so, albeit in the UK - some of these titles were already out in the US. We've alredy got reviews of three: Why Are You Doing This by Jason; Star Wars: Visionaries; and DC: The New Frontier - Volume 2.

Elsewhere, Batman's still at large in the graphic novel version of the film and similarly tied-in Scarecrow Tales, and John Constantine heads to London in Hellblazer: Red Sepulchre. American Flagg writer Howard Chaykin brings us criminal vampires in Bite Club and Alan Moore is back with Tom Strong Book 3 in paperback.

Fans of foxy sixties secret agents have got The Hell Makers, the latest volume in the reprints of the Modesty Blaise newspaper strips; while superhero worshippers can have their shot of the Green Arrow in City Walls and the mighty Superman in The Wrath of Gog. Last up is more nostalgia: volume seven of the Marvel Conan series - The Dwellers in the Pool and Other Stories; the second volume of Battlestar Galactica reprints; and the third of the comics based on the original Star Trek characters.
