Darkie’s Mob

Relive the horror of World War II’s Burma Campaign with Judge Dredd creator John Wagner

Charley’s War might be the most celebrated strip that came out of Battle Picture Weekly – a British boys’ comic from the same stable that produced 2000AD. But it wasn’t the only strip of interest. Darkie’s Mob, written by John Wagner (more famous for co-creating Judge Dredd) and illustrated by Mike Western, took its readers back into the Burma Campaign of World War II. A rag-tag group of Allied soldiers are on the verge of defeat, until the mysterious Joe Darkie appears from the jungle, ready to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. But at what cost to his men?

Titan Books have given Darkie’s Mob the Charley’s War treatment in this lavish hardback edition, complete with an introduction by Garth Ennis. The book reprints the entire run of the series in its original, uncensored form.
