PREVIEW

JSA Presents: Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E.

Sometimes it’s easy to think that superhero comics don’t cater for kids enough any more, but Geoff Johns’ Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. is here to take up some of the slack.

Courtney Whitmore thinks she’s just a regular teenager until she finds out that her recently acquired stepfather was once the sidekick of Golden Age superhero The Star Spangled Kid. Courtney gets hold of the Kid’s old costume and decides to become a superhero herself, leaving her stepfather worried that she might be biting off more than she can chew. Instead of grounding her for the rest of her life, however, he builds himself an 8-foot tall armoured suit (complete with fridge and satellite TV) and joins her as S.T.R.I.P.E., an all new sidekick, so he can properly keep an eye on her.
