If you’re a keen Star Wars fan and know anything about computer games, there’s a good chance you’ll have played BioWare’s highly recommended Knights of the Old Republic games. As you might gather from the name, this series of graphic novels is set in the same period: around 4,000 years before Luke Skywalker was trying to revive the Jedi tradition in the original movies.
In the time of the Old Republic, the Jedi were still strong, training youngsters in the way of the Force and keeping the universe in a state of relative harmony. But when a young Padawan (Jedi trainee) is charged by his masters with slaughtering everyone else in his class, he’s going to have a tough time clearing his name. Luckily we won’t have to wait too long to find out whether he can do it – unlike the recently published Clone Wars epic, Knights of the Old Republic only stretches to two volumes.
