Writers and alcohol have, for better or worse (and usually a bit of both), gone bottle in hand since words were first scratched on booze-soaked parchment. Jonathan Ames is continuing this not-so-grand tradition with The Alcoholic, which charts his own story through life as a drunken writer, succeeding in his craft but letting the rest of his life fall by the wayside.

Combining humour, heartache, hubris, and great visualisation from Dean Haspiel, The Alcoholic is an intimate examination of one man’s relationship with the bottle.
