Cry wolf

Although not a graphic novel, Wolf Boy has comics interspersed throughout its chapters. It tells the story of a family ripped apart by the tragic loss of their eldest son in a car crash. His surviving younger brother uses a comics alter-ego - Wolf Boy - to help explore some of his feelings and ease the grief, and the pages he puts together are included in the book.

While the comics only do a small proportion of the story-telling work, it's an interesting premise. Worth checking out if you like literary fiction as well as comics and fancy taking a punt on a new author.
