Two murders with 65 years between them but some striking similarities is the mystery around which Hannah Eaton’s new graphic novel Blackwood spins. Set in a small, rural, English town, 95-year-old Meg and her 11-year-old great-grandson Mason appear to hold the clues to solving the murder, but between her dementia and the fact that he’s only a child, no-one will listen to them.
As you can see from the preview images below, Hannah Eaton’s monochromatic illustrations hark back to a different era, but perfectly capture this eerie story, which its publisher describes as a cross between Middlemarch and The Wicker Man.
Blackwood was published on 1 October 2020.
